I have an empty portrait space, but when I try to transfer it, it says I don't have one.
The portrait space has most likely been filled before and was cleared. Only brand-new, never-used-before portrait spaces can be transferred via the in-game trading command. Silver Sponsors can transfer previously filled spaces by purchasing the Transfer Portraits option on Digo Market.
